Survival Party Store’s Glove Box Survival Kit

This kit is designed to help you for both everyday emergencies as well as survival scenarios (the other survival kits on the market are geared more for just survival scenarios). While it’s called a glove box survival kit it’s also a great survival kit for a bug out bag, can fit in a large size jam jar if you want to bury it, and can fit in a canteen pouch (among other pouches) if you wanted to wear it. In order to qualify for inclusion in this kit every item had to have a wide range of uses, be relatively compact, be relatively lightweight, and be relatively inexpensive. I used items made in the USA whenever possible because they're higher quality and it helps American jobs.

This kit includes these 12 parts:

1. 3 LED Hand Press Flashlight (Let me know if you want one in clear blue (like in the picture), or one in clear red, or clear yellow or I will have to pick.) (This flashlight is good for the environment because it doesn’t use up batteries that then go into landfill and can leak toxic chemicals into the water supply and good for you because it saves money on batteries and means you will always have light when you need it.)
2. Mini Hand Crank Dynamo 2 White LED Keychain Flashlight (Let me know if you want one in clear blue (like in the picture), or one in solid white, solid black, solid silver, or solid blue, or I will have to pick.) (Same as above and can be put on your keychain so it's always on you and can be used as a backup flashlight if you have the 3 LED hand press one with you.)
3. Map Compass with Lanyard (To find your way. The lanyard could also be used as cordage for a tourniquet, helping to build a shelter, etc.)
4. Survival Whistle with Lanyard (Let me know if you want an orange one (like in the picture) or a yellow one or I will have to pick.) (For signaling for help since a whistle can be heard over a longer distance than yelling and uses less energy than yelling (The universal whistle signals are: Three bursts with a pause means "I need help", two bursts and a pause means "come to me", and one burst and a pause means "where are you?"), Scaring away a bear or cougar, or just to celebrate! The lanyard could also be used as cordage for a tourniquet, helping to build a shelter, etc.)
5. Bic Classic Full Size Lighter (with up to 2x the lights) Made in USA (Color may vary but if you request a color we will try to get you one in that color, sorry no refund if we can't get that color.) (Can be used to start a fire and can be used briefly as a light source itself and briefly to warm hands.)
6. Pack of Kleenex Brand Tissues (For blowing nose, tinder for starting a fire, cleaning up a mess, and it comes with a short piece of tape attached that has many uses such as posting a note for others to find.)
7. Paper Mate Black Ballpoint Pen (For writing down contact info if in an accident, contact info if you see an old friend or make a new friend, making a to-do list if bored, making a shopping list, draw a map, write down ideas, a note for others to find if in a survival scenario with info on what direction you are heading and what you are wearing and your state.)
8. Piece of Computer Paper Folded Twice (So its 1/4 as big so it can fit in this kit and in your pocket, for writing on and can be used as tinder for starting a fire.)
9. Coghlan’s Emergency Blanket (For a waterproof blanket that radiates body heat back to you, can be used as a piece of rope (for example for a tourniquet), for collecting, transporting, or storing water, can be used as a bag to store clothes in (to keep them dry while crossing a body of water (If you put the clothes in the middle and tie the four corners together), for a shelter or part of a shelter, reflective so it makes it easier for rescuers to find you, works great as a sunshade, and many more uses.)
10. Coghlan’s Emergency Poncho (For a waterproof outer layer of clothing. Even if it’s not raining it can be used to keep a person more warm, can be used as a piece of rope (for example for a tourniquet), for collecting, transporting, or storing water, can be used as a bag to store clothes in (to keep them dry while crossing a body of water (If you put the clothes in the middle and tie the four corners together), for a shelter or part of a shelter, doesn’t work real well as a sunshade because it’s somewhat clear but would be better than nothing, and many more uses.)
11. Good Sense Large Trash Bag with Flap Ties 114L (30 Gal) made in USA (For another poncho (If you cut out a space for your head at the bottom middle and cut out two places for arms on either side of the bottom.) Even if it’s not raining it can be used to keep a person more warm, can be used as a piece of rope (for example for a tourniquet), for collecting, transporting, or storing water, can be used as a bag to store clothes in (to keep them dry while crossing a body of water, for a shelter or part of a shelter, for collecting, transporting, or storing water and this item can store more water than any other item in this kit, and it has many more uses such as picking up trash to make a scenic area more pristine, storing items in, or putting feet in to keep more warm if you are more at risk of hypothermia or frostbite than you are of trench foot since it won’t allow your feet to breath very well, works great as a sunshade, and many more uses.)
And
12. Good Sense Zipper Seal Freezer and Storage Bag (Quart Size) quality tested and packed in USA (For storing the kit in a way that’s waterproof and allows you to see the contents of the kit, for collecting, transporting, or storing water, fill with ice and it’s a cold pack, fill with warm water or urine and it’s a warm water bag, put it on one hand, and it’s a glove.)

Stuff that almost made it into the kit but didn’t:

Nail clippers (Can be used to cut nails and if you're in the wilderness for long enough you will need to do this and cutting nails with a knife or filing them down on rocks isn’t very appealing. Can also be used as a cutting tool, and the nail file as a file, and the nail file as a screwdriver.)
P-38 can opener (Can be used to open a can if you had to, it’s much more difficult to open a can with one of these than with your standard kitchen can opener but you physically can do it. It also works as a cutting tool and a regular screwdriver.)
52 yards of reach floss from Johnson and Johnson (Wind three strands together and it's string. Wind three pieces of string together and it's rope. Can also be used as cordage for a tourniquet, helping to build a shelter, etc. It also can be used to help prevent tooth decay and gum disease.)
2 pieces of Aluminum foil (You can bring water to a boil in it making it safer to drink and can cook food in it.)
First aid kit (With band aids and Neosporin.)

Stuff I recommend you add to this kit:

A multi tool (You can use it as a tool for a large amount of things. I didn’t include one because there're so many multi tools on the market I didn’t know which one you would prefer and they range in price from inexpensive to expensive. If you want to add the most inexpensive one on the market I recommend nail clippers or a P-38 can opener or both and if you want the best multi tool money can buy I recommend a leatherman wave, it has a saw function (among other things) and the saw can really come in handy when it comes to sawing branches out of the way of your vehicle or shelter building if you are no longer in your vehicle.)
A bottled water (You can drink it if thirsty, or use it to collect, transport, or store water. I didn’t include one because the cost of shipping one would greatly raise the cost of the kit and I wanted this kit to have an indefinite shelf life and bottled water does eventually expire.)
A food bar (You can eat it if hungry or use part of it for bait for an animal trap. I didn’t include one because there're so many food bars on the market I didn’t know which one you would prefer and I wanted this kit to have an indefinite shelf life and the shelf life on food bars is roughly a year.)
And a map of the area you are in or plan to be in. (Can also be used as tinder for starting a fire, writing on, a blanket, a sunshade, or even as something to read if you're bored! I didn’t include one in the kit because I don’t know which area you are in or plan to be in.)

You should be able to fit the glove box survival kit plus the recommended items in your glove box, even if your glove box is smaller than average.
Also one of the things that’s nice about this kit is if you have it in your glove box and a friend is in your vehicle and asks you “Got a pen and paper?” or “Got a Kleenex?” the answer to those questions is “Yes” and if the friend asks “Got a light?” the answer is “A flashlight or a lighter? I have both.”
Because this kit does contain a lighter you must be 18 years of age or older to purchase it.

Survival Party Store’s Altoid’s Tin EDC Survival Kit Type 1

EDC stands for “Every Day Carry” so it’s with you on your person wherever you go. In addition to being able to fit in a pocket it will also fit in any camera pouch (even ones for small digital cameras), most if not all cell phone pouches, and all USGI pouches (except pistol magazine pouches), even the really small USGI pouches for grenades and the USGI first aid/compass pouches. If you don’t want to carry it with you every day on your person you could always have it in a bug out bag or a glove box or take it just while camping or hiking or even put it in a jam jar and bury it.
The nail clippers and P-38 could cut you or tear clothing if in your pocket on a keychain so I advise leaving them in the tin. The keychain flashlight won’t fit in the tin if everything else is in there because the idea is that you would want it on your keychain. The whistle you could put on your keychain too but while I use my flashlight sometimes (finding the right key in the dark, etc) I would only use the whistle for signaling in an emergency so I leave mine in the tin. The tissues keep everything from rattling and scraping together and can be used to blow your nose or as tinder.
The whistle is pea less so there's no annoying rattle in your pocket (for my glove box survival kit a whistle with a pea is used because in a glove box you won’t notice the rattle as much as on your person) it is multi frequency. The universal signal for needing help with a whistle is 3 bursts and a pause. The inside of the lid of the tin and the bottom of the tin are reflective enough to be used as a signal mirror and you also could cook a small amount of food or liquids in them. I considered adding a rubber band or ranger band to keep the tin closed but it’s already closed so well that even holding it upside down when full of this kit’s contents it won’t open so I decided not to.
The tin has been thoroughly washed out and dried. I used items made in the USA whenever possible because they're higher quality and it helps American jobs.

This kit includes these 8 parts:

1. Mini Hand Crank Dynamo 2 White LED Keychain Flashlight (Let me know if you want 1 in clear blue (like in the picture), or 1 in solid white, solid black, solid silver, or solid blue, or I will have to pick.)
2. Map Compass with Lanyard
3. Multi Frequency Green Flat Whistle with Keychain Attachment
4. Kroger Brand Nail Clippers with Keychain Attachment
5. P-38 Can Opener from Shelby co. Made in USA
6. Mini Bic Lighter Made in USA (Color may vary but if you request a color I will try to get you one in that color, sorry no refund if we can't get that color.)
7. 2 Kleenex Brand Tissues
And
8. Altoid’s Tin Made in USA (altoid’s mints not included) (Let me know if you want 1 in green, blue, or red or I will have to pick.)

Stuff I recommend you EDC in addition to this kit:

Keys, a piece of paper folded 3 times, pen, wallet (with some cash, a debit card with some money on it, and an ID), cell phone (with your in case of emergency contact titled “ICE” (unless there is a section in “Contacts” titled “In case of emergency” then have at least one in case of emergency contact number there and also have in contacts the police and fire non-emergency number for the county you live in), and a casio digital watch. Your keys and cell phone should be in separate pockets so the cell phone doesn’t get scratched up.

This kit differs from Survival Party Store’s Altoid’s Tin EDC Survival Kit Type 2 in that it has a mini bic lighter instead of a full size bic lighter and a map compass with lanyard instead of a 20mm button compass. So it has a lighter with less lights than the other kit but is lighter and a compass that is better quality but is heavier.
I personally carry the Survival Party Store’s Altoid’s Tin EDC Survival Kit Type 1 that I modified by taking out the keychain attachments for the whistle and nail clippers since I figured I don’t need those and taking them out allowed me to add a 3rd tissue and there was still a little room left over so I also added a 9.6mm black button compass type 2 for use as a backup compass. I live in a big city so I figure I need the ability to start fires less and need a map compass more and I like that since the map compass comes with a lanyard I can use the nail clippers to cut it and then use it as cordage or a tourniquet.
How I EDC is in my front left pocket is the survival kit, keys with hand crank flashlight on the keychain, and pen and paper and then in my front right pocket my cell phone (with it upside down so when I put it to the side of my head it’s right side up) my wallet in front of my cell phone (it acts as a cushion for my cell phone if I bump up against something hard like the edge of a table and also makes it faster to get my cell phone out) and then my casio digital watch is on my left wrist.
Because this kit does contain a lighter you must be 18 years of age or older to purchase it.
